The City is famous for its original Christmas lanterns brought about by the creativity and craftsmanship of the Fernandinos. Aside from the colorful lanterns, the City of San Fernando takes pride in being known for its delicious Kapampangan cuisine, as well as its meat products, most popular of which are the tocino and longaniza. The city is also the site of the annual re-enactment of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ.


What now compromises the City of San Fernando was carved out of the towns of Mexico and Bacolor. It was founded in 1754 and named after its patron saint, the Spanish king Fernando III, Rey (King) de Castilla y Leon.

Geography.
San Fernando is about 67 kilometers away from Manila. It is bounded on the northwestern side by Angeles City, on the northeast by Mexico, on the southwest by Bacolor, and on the southeast by Sto Tomas.

The City of San Fernando, is composed of 34 barangays, namely: Alasas, Baliti, Bulaon, Calulut, De La Paz Norte, De La Paz Sur, Del Carmen, Del Pilar, Del Rosario, Dolores, Juliana, Lara, Lourdes, Magliman, Maimpis, Malino, Palpitic, Pandaras, Panipuan, Quebiawan, Saguin, San Agustin, San Felipe, San Isidro, San Jose, San Juan, San Nicolas, San Pedro, Sta. Lucia, Sta. Teresita, Sto. Ni�o, Sto. Rosario, Sindalan, and Telabastagan.

Population.
The capital City of San Fernando has a population of 193,255. Its labor force is 62% of the total population, which has literacy rate of 98.79%.


Major Industries
The capital city is the favored site for many top corporations such as San Miguel Corporation, that has one of its biggest brewery in Barangay Quebiawan and various bottling concerns. The province's sugar central, Pampang Sugar Development Company (Pasudeco), is located in Barangay Sto. Ni�o. Aside from agricultural products, the city also derives income from its cottage and handicrafts manufacturing industries.


Utilities & Amenities
The San Fernando Electric Light and Power Company (SFELAPCO) is the main generator of electricity. While the San Fernando Water District supplies water at 973,500 gallons per day capacity.
Telephone companies operating here are PLDT and Digitel. There are four telegraphic stations and two cellphone companies (Extelcom and SMART). Cable television is provided by KTV 12 and internet access by Irnet and Angelcom.


Financial institutions serving the area are 27 commercial banks, 11 rural banks, and 3 savings banks. There are also 36 lending investors and 40 pawnshops.
The three tertially level educational institutions found in the capital city are the University of the Assumption, East Central Colleges, and Harvardian Colleges. There are 9 nine private institutions offering courses on computer technology as well as other technical and vocational courses. There are 2 public high schools (Pampanga High School and Sindalan High School) and 6 private high schools (St Scholastica's Academy, University of the Assumption, Mother of Good Counsel Seminary, Chinese School, East Central Colleges, and Harvardian Colleges). The elementary school level is covered by 31 public and 14 private schools. Nine privately owned and in some public elementary schools offer pre-elementary schooling.
Health facilities available in San Fernando are one public hospital (the provincial Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital), 5 private clinics/hospitals, and 34 public health centers.
Recreational facilities are provided at the Pampanga Sports Complex and Convention Center, the Philippine Christmas Village, and Mr. Golf Tee House. The nine movie theaters operating in the city include those at the SM City Pampanga mall.


Trainings are being conducted or held at Epatha Center, Pampanga Convention Center, Sampaguita Hall of Philippine Christmas Village (Paskuhan), Celebrations Plaza, Holidayland, and Partyland. The Rotary also maintains 2 training centers.

Getting to this hotel in Clark Philippines
